Local Dealership Expands their Property

Berlin City Auto Group recently acquired five properties totaling more than two acres adjacent to its Toyota/Scion/Lexus dealership on Riverside Street in Portland.

The property, off Campbell Road, will allow the Berlin City Auto Group to immediately expand its new and pre-owned inventory and eventually its service center. Groundbreaking on the expansion is expected to begin in April.

Despite stalled auto sales nationwide, Berlin City is bucking the trend with strong sales and sustainable growth. According to CEO Rod Buscher, the dealership is one of the fastest-growing in the area, and has seen an increase in sales of its Toyota and Lexus vehicles.

Berlin City Auto Group and Habitat for Humanity team up for Green Effort

Berlin City Toyota Scion Lexus is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to add a new Green dimension to the dealership’s current expansion project. Berlin City approached Habitat for Humanity in search of a way to recycle the three buildings and garage located on the land they recently acquired for the dealership’s upcoming expansion.

Habitat for Humanity has volunteers on site this week disassembling the structures of all recyclable materials and housing elements. The idea of disassembling and recycling abandoned or condemned homes is gaining popularity with Sustainable Living groups. Habitat for Humanity have been involved in such projects in the Portland area for more than three years.

“It made sense to us, from both a business and environmental perspective, to partner with Habitat for Humanity. This idea is a great solution for all the parties involved”, said Berlin City Toyota/Scion/Lexus General Manager, Eric Johnson.

Habitat for Humanity should be finished disassembling the properties this weekend. The expansion project for the dealership will break ground early next week.

Berlin City Toyota of Portland welcomes all new Toyota Prius

Berlin City Toyota of Portland announced today the arrival of the 3^rd generation 2010 Prius. Toyota has given Berlin City Toyota a special allocation of the all-new Prius for a special preview to be held on June 20^th from noon to 5:00pm.

The midsize third-generation 2010 Prius will offer even better mileage, enhanced performance, and innovative design features. It will be quieter, roomier, and equipped with advanced standard and available features such as a moon roof with solar panels, four driving modes, Intelligent Parking Assist (IPA) and steering wheel touch controls that display on the instrument panel.

The 2010 Prius’ arrival has been long awaited; with EPA efficiency with combined technologies reaches 50 miles per gallon. The next-generation Prius is built on a new platform, which enables improved handling stability, quieter operation, and collision safety. The suspension consists of front struts and a rear intermediate beam design, as before, but handling stability is advanced by improving the stabilizer layout, higher caster angle and tuning the bushing characteristics. Disc brakes are now used on all four corners, replacing the front disc/rear drum brakes in the current model.
